Small Business Month

The Hon. AILEEN MacDONALD (12:34:36):

I move:

(1)That this House notes that:

(a)October is Small Business Month; and

(b)this year's theme is "My Small Business" with events focused on helping small business owners and operators improve their business across seven key areas which include:

(i)My Small Business Brand;

(ii)My Small Business Cyber Security;

(iii)My Small Business Health;

(iv)My Small Business Online;

(v)My Small Business Resilience;

(vi)My Small Business Team; and

(vii)My Small Business Trade.

(2)That this House further notes that:

(a)small businesses comprise more than 98 per cent of all businesses in New South Wales;

(b)small businesses employ approximately 1.7 million people; and

(c)small businesses contribute more than $465 billion a year to the State's sales and services income.

(3)That this House recognises the importance of small businesses in New South Wales, particularly in our regions.
