Maitland Ambulance 100 Year Anniversary

The Hon Aileen MacDonald today paid tribute to the Maitland Ambulance Service which celebrated 100 years of service in July.

Ms MacDonald said the Maitland Ambulance Service typifies the dedication to service of all ambulance services in Northern NSW.

“I have today called on the NSW Parliament to commend the Ambulance Service for 100 years of invaluable support to the local community,” Ms MacDonald said.

“Maitland has had a long and significant history in NSW going back to the area’s original inhabitants, the people of the Wonnarua Nation,” Ms MacDonald said.

“It’s important for people to know that since 1924 around 160 people have selflessly given their work for the NSW Ambulance Service in Maitland,” she said.

Ms MacDonald also congratulated the Maitland Ambulance Service for its evolution from life saving intervention to a holistic approach to pre-hospital healthcare.
